The Sixth and Seventh Books of Moses is widely regarded as one of the most influential grimoires. It contains a collection of magical incantations, spells, and seals that are said to originate from the lost magical Books of the Biblical prophet Moses. This work is believed to have originated in Germany and later spread to America through the Pennsylvania Dutch and their pow-wow books. It began to be printed in the late nineteenth century and gained popularity in the African American South, as well as in the Caribbean and West Africa. The text has significantly influenced Hoodoo, Rastafarian practices, various African religious movements, and European and American occultists. This edition was published by Lauron William de Laurence (1868 – 1936), who was known as a book pirate, plagiarist, and publisher of occult literature.
