The deLaurence edition was published by the eccentric book pirate and plagiarist William de Laurence (1868-1936). This version is a pirated adaptation of the revised second edition of Arthur Edward Waites pioneering collection of Eliphas Lvis works in translation. Originally published in 1886, it is considered the first significant publication of Lvis work in the English language.

This version is one of the finest printings of the deLaurence publications, crafted with red silk cloth and featuring the original tetragrammaton, or “Pentacle of Faust” on the cover.

Condition: publishers red silk cloth boards, gilt title to spine, gilt tetragrammaton design to cover, bookplate to pastedown, ownership inscription to reverser side of ffep dated 1931, small private ownership stamp to adversiting page , thebottom edge of pages 346-446 have ink staining, still a nice bright copy in firm binding, Very Good condition overall
