The Second Edition of this important work in which Besant, relying on information from Leadbeater obtained by “astral clairvoyance”, further develops Blavatsky’s cosmological theory that Root Races are stages in human evolution.

The controversial author, Charles Webster Leadbeater (1854-1934), was a prominent, if controversial, member of the Theosophical Society, co-founder of the Liberal Catholic Church, and author of many books on Theosophy and various aspects of occultism.

Condition: Publishers cloth boards, gilt title to spine slightly faded, title to front board, inscription to flyleaf, front hinge with slight crack but binding still tight and unaffected, all pages clean with no markings, overall Very Good condition
