Author Jacobus Johannas Van Der Leeuw was a theosophist and priest at the Liberal Catholic Church which was founded by C.W. Leadbeater, and was in fact a student of Leadbeater. This work (perhaps his best known) is based on the awakening of Ego-consciousness which he describes as coming to him “in but a single moment”. It is a relatively short work which includes chapters on; The Drama of theSoul in Exile, The Powers of the Ego, The Way of the Ego, The World of the Ego, The Return of the Exile, along with an afterword. Scarce in a First Edition
