Dr. Bucke observed a growing occurrence of this transfiguring endowment of illumination and thoroughly documented the cases known up to the time of his writing. His work was endorsed by Prof. William James of Harvard as a significant contribution to psychology, and P.D. Ouspensky, the Russian philosopher, dedicated a chapter of his famous work Tertium Organum to appreciating and discussing Cosmic Consciousness, marking a milestone in this area of study.
